Fein DW1 Wet/Dry Clean-Up Kit Review

The parts go together easily with only slight pressure.They stay together when you want them to, but you can still take them apart.Thus far, I have not had them stick together so tightly that I have had to struggle to disassemble them.This was a common and recurring problem with my old VAC.
I especially like the floor brush. It has two rollers at the back of the unit that are larger enough that you can easily push it around in the typical shop floor dust and wood clips. It also has a built-in lever that permits you to lower bristle strips along the front and rear edges.The benefit is that for shop applications, you can leave the bristle strips retracted and the small wood chips won't have anything to cling to.You'll vacuum them right up.But for interior use or for fine particle dust, the bristles help attract and pick them up.
This package is a nice addition to your Fein VAC.

Concrobium Mold Control, 32 oz Review

(More customer reviews)I have an unventilated bathroom and four adults using it regularly.Add to that my penchant for long hot showers and it's not surprising that a section of the ceiling is plagued with spots of dark mold.For a while I tried remedies like general cleaners on the end of a mop, and natural remedies like vinegar -- all yielded moderate results that were not worth the effort and odor, plus the paint on the ceiling was partially dissolved!!

This product not only helped reduce the ceiling spots just by spraying it at the ceiling on a weekly basis, it also got the shower tiles a shade of white previously unimagined.For the longest time I thought those tiles were just off-white because they never changed color despite vigorous scrubbing with things you'd think would get them their whitest.In fact, my mom used to use Clorox bleach but had to stop because it eventually destroyed the tub caulking and caused the shower water to leak into an adjacent room!!!

With this product, I sprayed the tiles liberally, let it sit for a good while (about an hour), and then set to scrubbing -- a yellow film came off of the tiles.I did break a sweat doing it but it was far less effort than I've used in the past trying to get those tiles clean.Then I re-sprayed and didn't rinse it off.I cleaned again a few days later and the remaining film came off with less effort.

Now I try to spray at least a few times a week after I shower and the tiles stay fairly clean, requiring minimal scrubbing once a week.The caulking is still blackish but much less nasty looking than before (I have to avoid scrubbing because I'm worried about another leak).The ceiling is much improved with a little mop scrubbing and frequent re-spraying.

One issue I have with this product is that much of it is lost when I try to spray the ceiling.I'm pretty sure if I could blast the ceiling with this it would get rid of the remaining mold.Alas, all I can do is spray upward while standing on the side of the tub and hope at least half of it is getting to the moldy ceiling because it seems like most of it is raining down on my head.

Miele S184 Powerhouse Fullsize Upright Vacuum Review

(More customer reviews)I would like to help spare someone my frustration. First, this is a good vac. No it's not Miele's top of the line $900 - it's a little louder than I wanted, and initially seems kind of cheap and lightweight. But if you are sick and tired of pushing and lugging a heavy upright, this is the vac you want. It is small, compact, and can be lifted easily with one arm at about 14 lbs. The plastic seems high quality, a metallic flake blue. Says on the box it is made in the USA. My quest was to find an upright that could switch from pretty plush thick carpet, to hardwood floors. My heavy old Eureka worked OK on the hardwood, as it sat high, and therefore the brush roller never contacted the floor, thus avoiding damage. Unfortunately this isn't the case with this Miele. When the brush roller bar is activated, it definitely sits very low and contacts the hard floor. So Miele has an on-off switch for the roller to remedy this problem. Trouble is, there is really not much suction when the roller is turned off, just a wee bit, more on the right side. So I guess I go back to sweeping the hard floors. I had read that canister vacs are really the way to go for houses with both carpet and hard floor. But most canisters work best on thinner carpet. For thick carpet, you are advised to get powerhead canisters (heavier brush roller), but wow, the cost runs up there for Mieles, etc. So I went with this upright Miele because it was a bargain. I was told by a vac guy that Miele is discontinuing the line and staying with their high end vacs. This Miele is a dream to push on carpet--so smooth and light. It has so much suction that it does suck up smaller area rugs of 3X4, but those can go in the wash. The 184 model does have a power adjustment switch to lower the suction. Overall I am happy with it. The Hepa exhaust air seems very pure - no smell at all compared to the old uprights we all grew up with. I read that most cheap US made Hepas are false Hepas because the vacs aren't properly sealed. I trust Miele. It also comes with a thick high quality filter bag.

(More customer reviews)The product itself performs satisfactory, but beware of the seller sending only 1 bottle, instead of the promised 3.After complaining, they sent a 2nd bottle...and after complaining again I was refunded $6 to my account for the never received 3rd bottle.I don't believe a 3-pack exists, but the seller assumes you will not bother to complain about getting only 1 bottle despite paying $20. They were wrong in my case.Hope this helps!

Rubbermaid(R) Dual Action Sweeper Review

Adding threaded fittings would barely have increased the cost. I like most Rubbermaid products, but this one has a serious design flaw.
